master the ping
Nov 08
So many pings, so little time.
This could be the mantra of our wired world. At every turn we have some form of media viing for our attention. Because at every turn there is electronic opportunity; to tweet, to post a pic on Facebook, to reply to an email, to check our reader or share our location. These can be positive activities. They can connect us with those we love, encourage others, and even increase our influence, whether professionally, or in our ministries.
Yet, these same pings also divide our attention and clutter our minds. It can be hard to discern which pings to respond to, which to ignore, and which to shut off. When media interrupts our thoughts and focus or draws us away from our true priorities, we need to stop and think about it.
The key then is to not be a slave to the ping…but instead be its master.

After spending 9 years with a non-profit in the Denver area, I joined the Group Publishing team in 2010. I have the awesome privilege of working with ministry leaders and offering support and encouragement with those who work with church volunteers.
When I am not at Group, I am meeting with writers across the country encouraging them to pursue their dreams! I hope that my story and experiences will encourage you, too.
